   Hello!
   In WordPress 5.9, you cannot add a featured image to a post.
   Help troubleshoot.

   Hi Peter

   First of all make sure you have selected the Post tab (from POST, BLOCK) and then scroll down to the Featured Image section.

   Is this a custom post type?
   Otherwise featured image option is there in WordPress 5.9
